【Lecture Overview】 In the aviation industry, the introduction of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is a crucial issue in achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. SAF is a technology that contributes to the reduction of CO₂ emissions, and internationally, efforts to reduce emissions have been mandated for airlines in various countries under the ICAO's CORSIA system starting in the fiscal year 2027, accelerating the movement towards wider adoption. This lecture will explain the fundamental understanding of SAF, recent manufacturing technologies, and domestic and international trends and challenges.
