basic information
【Lecture Overview】 I believe that a major role of local governments is to maximize the connection between regional resources and opportunities brought to the community, thereby enhancing citizens' lives. In Ishikari City, Hokkaido, adjacent to Sapporo, a rich environment has been created with an international trade port, a vast industrial park, and suitability for the development of renewable energy sources. Currently, efforts are being made to attract data centers, which are becoming essential infrastructure in modern times, utilizing these resources. On the other hand, renewable energy sources and data centers can sometimes be perceived as "nuisance facilities," rather than enhancing citizens' lives. This lecture will detail Ishikari City's challenges in promoting sustainable urban development while leveraging new industries entering the region, grassroots initiatives aimed at solving local issues, and thoughts on collaboration with private enterprises. 【Lecture Items】 ■ Overview of Ishikari City ■ Various renewable energy sources ■ Current status and prospects of offshore wind power generation ■ "RE Zone Concept" ■ Creating regional value utilizing data centers ■ Sustainable urban development through "regional resources × XX" ■ Related Q&A ■ Business card and information exchange meeting
