LoRaWAN Wireless Communication Features ■ Low Power Consumption: The power consumption varies slightly depending on the end device, but due to its fast transmission and reception speeds, it consumes less power compared to other communication standards, which helps reduce maintenance frequency. Additionally, it consumes so little power that two-way communication can be achieved with just one button battery, and it is said that such batteries can last over 10 years of continuous operation in some cases. ■ Long-Distance Communication: While the range for frequencies used in smartphones (3G and later) in the 800MHz band is said to be about 2 to 5 km, LoRaWAN can communicate over distances of approximately 10 km, more than double that. In areas with minimal obstacles, communication over distances greater than 10 km is possible; however, for practical use in urban areas, it is advisable to expect a range of about 3 to 5 km, and around 1 km in indoor environments with obstacles. ■ High Noise Resistance: The 920MHz band used by LoRaWAN is less prone to simultaneous interference from other wireless networks, which helps minimize communication latency and allows for stable communication. Therefore, it can be reliably used in factory facilities and indoor environments.
