Volex's QSFP28 active breakout direct attach cable features 4 channels for transmission and 4 channels for reception, supporting a breakout configuration from 100Gbps (QSFP28) to 2x 50Gbps (QSFP28 x 2). The cable assembly complies with the 25GbE Ethernet (IEEE 802.3by) standard. The signal quality, which experiences significant stress during high-speed data transmission, is improved through advanced linear equalization. As a result, longer transmission distances can be achieved with the same cable or with thinner, more flexible cables. Additionally, the maximum cable length that meets the IEEE CAN specification can be extended to double to satisfy cable routing length requirements within racks. CAN cables support low-latency applications as they do not require FEC, which induces delays.
