Alpes Lasers has improved its old product, the room-temperature pulsed broad-gain laser for EC, and has started handling the new mid-infrared light source "GLIDER." GLIDER offers a wide range of adjustments and is a monolithic all-in-one light source based on an external cavity design that does not require assembly or external drivers. The output is a single light beam, and its wavelength can be selected in a range of up to approximately 2200 cm⁻¹. Alpes Lasers SA is known as the first company in the world to apply unipolar laser technology to spectroscopic applications. It was also the first company to commercialize QCL (Quantum Cascade Laser) for various fields such as science, industry, and medicine. Additionally, it has been involved in the development of QCL for defense applications for the U.S. Air Force.

GLIDER is designed for single-mode operation with a wide range of spectral tuning capabilities and consists of a single or multiple quantum cascade laser (QCL) gain chips, a retrofitted lattice-tuned extended optical cavity, a driver, and control software. The system is housed in a sealed enclosure in an assembled state, so no adjustments are necessary. The QCL chip can accommodate up to four elements, allowing for a broader coverage range.
