**Lecture Overview** It is difficult to electrify aircraft. Aviation fuel must be produced from biomass or renewable energy. In Japan, the production of SAF from used cooking oil has begun. Overseas, SAF production has started from bioethanol and gas from waste materials through FT synthesis. Additionally, FT synthesis from CO2 and renewable hydrogen has also commenced.
