[Seminar] Next-Generation Mobility City Concept and Business Opportunities Designed by Mitsubishi Jisho Sekkei
A New Challenge for Future Urban Development: The Possibilities Opened by Mobility Connecting People, Architecture, and Cities
【Lecture Overview】 Since around 2021, we have been advancing the creation of a vision for the next-generation mobility "SMS (Seamless Mobility System)" that reinterprets urban spaces, architecture, and people as a unique proposal from an architectural design office, and this time I would like to focus on the "Modular VTOL System" as part of that initiative. The aim of this proposal is not to develop a flying car as a product, but to explore new possibilities for cities and architecture starting from the concept of SMS. If the hubs for people flow and logistics are decentralized between the ground and rooftops, the ground level of buildings will become a more freely accessible space, transforming the streetscape. Additionally, I would like to touch upon a new urban image where urban spaces emerge in the mid-levels of super-tall buildings and the evacuation methods for those with mobility difficulties are dramatically improved. 【Seminar Details】 ■ Date and Time: October 21, 2025 (Tuesday) 9:30 - 11:10 (Doors open at 9:00) ■ Speaker: Takumi Kato Branch Manager, Tohoku, Mitsubishi Jisho Sekkei Co., Ltd.
