basic information
**Lecture Overview** In 2024, the Basic Law on Food, Agriculture, and Rural Areas was amended, establishing the concept of "food systems" as a collective of activities where various stakeholders collaborate from food production to consumption. Among food systems, the food industry plays a crucial role in connecting agricultural, forestry, and fishery producers with consumers, serving as a destination for agricultural, forestry, and fishery products. However, costs have been increasing at various stages from food production to sales in recent years, raising concerns about the impact on food supply. In light of this situation, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries aims to promote the sustainable development of the food industry and price formation that takes costs into account under the newly enacted "Food System Law." This lecture will explain the Food System Law and elaborate on the future direction of policies. **Lecture Items** ■ Background of the establishment of the Food System Law ■ Price formation considering reasonable costs ■ Establishment of a sustainable food system ■ Related Q&A ■ Business card and information exchange meeting
