USB 3.0 camera equipped with a multispectral imager
[Leopard Imaging]LI-USB30-IMX454-MIPI-092H
Equipped with Sony's advanced IMX454 multispectral image sensor. Lightweight and can be mounted on drones.
The USB3.0 camera "LI-USB30-IMX454-MIPI-092H" equipped with Sony's IMX454 multispectral image sensor features eight different filters that allow different wavelengths of light to pass through, formed on the photodiodes, unlike conventional color image sensors that have three types of color filters (red, green, blue) on each pixel's photodiode. Typical multispectral cameras incorporate spectral elements like prisms or diffraction gratings, which limit the shooting scenes as they require either the subject or the camera to be scanned at a constant speed. With the IMX454, it is possible to capture a two-dimensional image in a single shot, similar to a conventional camera, making it applicable to various scenes.

Applications/Examples of results
■Observation of Agricultural Land Currently, in the agricultural sector, there is a growing effort to capture images of farmland from the air using cameras to accurately understand the growth status of crops, enabling data-driven cultivation management. However, it is not easy to determine the growth status solely based on the color information of the captured crops. By using multispectral image sensors for imaging, it becomes possible to efficiently monitor the growth status and distribution of crops from spectral images, making it easier to grasp the optimal timing for providing water and fertilizers. ■Autonomous Operation of Agricultural Machinery To address the issue of labor shortages, there is an increasing demand for agricultural machinery that can operate automatically. In the case of automobiles, autonomous driving is achieved by relying on road markings and signs, but in agriculture, there are fewer reliable markers, making it essential to collect various information and recognize the environment. Multispectral image sensors are well-suited to capture the differences in reflection characteristics of various substances, allowing for effective identification of the surrounding environment, such as plants, soil, and puddles. This enhances the accuracy of route selection for autonomous driving, contributing to the realization of autonomous operation of agricultural machinery.
