~ Fusion of Reliable Technology Developed So Far ~ "CAM-TOOL AM" is a composite CAM system compatible with simultaneous 5-axis control, equipped with a new processing mode that generates additive manufacturing paths using either the DED (Directed Energy Deposition) method or the MEX (Material Extrusion) method. It allows for a new process design that combines additive manufacturing (additive processing) and traditional cutting processes (subtractive processing) within a single system. The additive process achieves operations similar to those of traditional cutting, enabling operators to create data from shape settings to path output without any special operations. CAM-TOOL contributes to new manufacturing by merging the reliable technology developed through cutting with advanced technology. AM: Abbreviation for Additive Manufacturing.

By specifying the shape to be formed by layering and the base surface, a path for layered manufacturing is generated. Various dedicated parameters allow for the creation of paths tailored to different shapes. It supports layering not only on flat and cylindrical surfaces but also on arbitrary freeform surfaces, enabling the creation of layered paths using the same operations as the cutting mode in CAM-TOOL. ■ Support for simultaneous 5-axis layered paths ● It accommodates not only layering with 3 axes but also simultaneous 5-axis layering operations. ● Equipped with a machine simulation function, it can perform interference checks and stroke checks for the equipment. ■ New process design combining layered manufacturing and cutting ● It allows for the design of machining processes that combine layered manufacturing and cutting. It becomes possible to cut the layered shapes or layer on the cut shapes. ● A new function has been developed to generate stock shapes from the created layered paths. This enables the creation of efficient cutting paths using the shapes formed by layering. ● Even in machining processes that combine layering and cutting, simulations tailored to the process are automatically executed.
