It is also possible to improve efficiency by filtering based on certain conditions or classifications. Grid method specifically for point clouds To grid LiDAR data (including all areas such as buildings and trees), using the Create Grid command designed for point clouds allows for the creation of grid data at a much faster rate compared to various grid methods standardly equipped in Surfer. Creating terrain models from LiDAR data The advantage of using LiDAR data is that it allows for the extraction of surface data, enabling the use of very high-precision terrain models. High-precision data obtained as point clouds can be gridded using advanced interpolation methods such as Kriging. Incorporating any section of LiDAR data into the model It is also possible to cut out a portion of LiDAR data and combine it with various surface models created in Surfer.
