Utilizing borehole data in Surfer
If you want to confirm the layering of strata (stratigraphy), age, mineralization layers, etc., the Drillhole layer in Surfer can realistically reproduce your well data as a true 3D display, along with the contents included in the data (e.g., contaminant concentrations, mineralization concentrations, results of quantitative analysis, geophysical characteristics, etc.). It is also possible to display the path of the borehole, data points, and intervals, as well as color-coding based on the values of the data. In the latest version, it has become possible to create contact points within the drill hole based on keywords (such as lithology names) and data queries (such as SWV: seismic-while-drilling and CPT: Cone Penetration Test data). Visualizing subsurface layers has never been easier!

basic information
Arrangement and Visualization of Drill Hole Data You can easily import drilling hole data and generate a 2D Drillhole layer that represents the positions, curvature, and paths of drilling holes, cores, and wells. Your data is managed in the Drillhole Manager. The paths of the drilling holes can be displayed in a 2D map view and can also be visualized in 3D. 3D Interpolation of Drill Hole Data With Surfer, you can easily grid drill hole data. Simply click the button in the Drillhole Manager or click Grid Data and select Drillhole XYZC as the data type. A 3D grid will be generated after data collection and interpolation. Contact Points in 3D Drill Holes This is a new feature in Surfer 30. You can now designate any location where there is a change in data as a contact point. For example, changes in rock type, density, sedimentation period, and types of mineralization can be represented as contact points. This is useful when you want to create lithological units or surfaces above coal seams.
