【Lecture Overview】 The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare is promoting initiatives aimed at realizing medical DX based on the "Roadmap for Promoting Medical DX." At the end of last year, a law titled "Act to Partially Amend the Medical Care Act, etc." was enacted, which includes necessary legal responses for advancing various initiatives and specifies the direction of the roadmap. For example, regarding the promotion of the utilization of medical information, it will now be possible to use and provide anonymized information from public databases related to medical and nursing care held by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare, and secondary use of clinical information shared through electronic medical record information sharing services will be allowed. Additionally, based on the "Priority Plan for Realizing a Digital Society," a "Study Group on Promoting the Utilization of Medical Information" was established last year, and discussions on further secondary use of medical information are ongoing.
