<Case Study> Challenge: After purchasing a used FIT project, it was found that shadows from nearby trees and weeds were causing lower than expected power generation. To accurately assess the impact of the shadows, aerial surveying using drones was conducted, resulting in the "3D data" of the power plant and its surrounding environment. Traditional 2D design plans do not take into account the height of trees or the undulations of the terrain. However, by utilizing 3D data, it is possible to precisely simulate "where and to what extent shadows fall" throughout the year, especially during the low solar altitude in winter and during morning and evening hours. Based on this analysis, we proposed the optimal panel arrangement to avoid the impact of shadows. Even owners without specialized knowledge were able to visually understand "why it was necessary to change the arrangement," allowing us to proceed with the renovation work. As a result of the repowering, the electricity sales volume increased by approximately 20%. By adopting SolaX's hybrid power converter, which allows for the expansion of battery storage, it is now possible to consider the installation of additional battery storage in the future, depending on the occurrence of output control situations.
