**Lecture Overview** The "Act on Securing Safety for Regenerative Medicine, etc." (hereinafter referred to as "this Act") was enacted in 2013 with the aim of promoting the rapid and safe provision and dissemination of regenerative medicine, and has been in effect since the following year. This Act stipulates the matters that medical institutions must comply with when providing regenerative medicine, as well as the systems related to the manufacturing of specific cell processing products used in regenerative medicine. In Japan, clinical research involving regenerative medicine, cell therapy, and gene therapy falls under the scope of this Act.
