● Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) CFRP is widely used in large-scale liquid crystal and semiconductor-related equipment, as well as in the aerospace field, taking advantage of its characteristics such as lightweight (specific gravity 1.6 to 1.7), strength (tensile strength: 1000 MPa to 3000 MPa, tensile modulus: 60 GPa to 350 GPa, depending on design), high vibration damping, and low thermal expansion coefficient. The thermal expansion coefficient can be designed to approach nearly zero, and its small value contributes to dimensional stability. ● Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic (GFRP) GFRP is lighter with a specific gravity of 1.6 to 2, but it is inferior to CFRP in terms of weight. However, it excels in cost performance. Due to its excellent radio wave permeability, insulation properties, weather resistance, and chemical resistance, it is used in applications such as antenna covers, radar domes, chemical plants, and environmental plants.
