Optical media converter that facilitates media conversion without reducing speed.
Many gigabit Ethernet switches and gigabit Ethernet NICs (LAN cards) commonly use twisted pair cables (UTP) for 1000Base-T or multimode fiber (MMF) for 1000Base-SX interfaces. The GE-C301 series facilitates media conversion between servers with built-in 1000Base-T and gigabit switches with 1000Base-SX without reducing speed. It also enables high-speed media conversion at gigabit speeds when connecting gigabit switches' 1000Base-T to inexpensive gigabit NIC cards' 1000Base-SX. This media converter can be used not only as a standalone device but also in wiring closets, and it can be installed as a slide-in module of the converter rack CR-1112 series, which can accommodate up to 12 units in a 19-inch rack.
