Applications/Examples of results
The analog input module uses a microprocessor-controlled A/D converter to convert sensor voltages, currents, thermocouple, or RTD signals into digital data. When transferring digital data, it can be converted into engineering units, hexadecimal format, or full-scale range (FSR) depending on the module's settings. The data is transmitted through a standard RS-485 interface by the host computer. The analog input module provides signal conditioning, A/D conversion, distance measurement, and RS-485 digital communication capabilities. By providing A/D input and transformer-based optical isolation up to 3000 V DC, it protects the equipment from ground loop effects and power surges. (The ADAM-4011 has transformer-based isolation up to 500 V DC.)
