The confocal optical displacement sensor is a non-contact displacement meter capable of measuring both mirror surfaces and transparent bodies like glass.
The confocal optical displacement sensor is a non-contact displacement meter. It uses multiple lenses to focus white light, acting as a polychromatic light source, onto the surface of the target object. At this time, the lenses are arranged so that white light is dispersed into monochromatic light, and a specific distance is assigned to each wavelength based on the factory settings. Only the wavelengths that are precisely focused on the target object are detected by the spectrometer and measured as distance. This unique measurement principle allows for measurements on mirror-like surfaces as well as transparent bodies like glass, and in the case of transparent bodies, thickness measurements can also be made. It is also suitable for measuring liquid levels.
