Most of the characteristics necessary for coil quality can be inspected in a very short time.
The DWX series is a new winding test device that inherits the performance and reliability cultivated in the previous digital impulse winding testers, the DW and DWS series, while incorporating the latest technology and merging innovative design with visual operability.

basic information
The impulse winding tester efficiently conducts electrical tests on windings in a non-destructive manner. Its principle involves passing the same impulse current through a standard winding (master coil) and the winding under test (sample coil), comparing the transient phenomenon waveforms to determine their quality. The transient phenomenon waveform, which represents the damped oscillation waveform occurring within the coil, indicates inductance and Q factor, allowing for simultaneous assessment of differences in the number of turns in the coil, rare shorts, and, if a core is present, differences in material. Additionally, by applying a higher impulse voltage, it is possible to detect insulation failures arising from corona discharge.
