basic information
◆◇◆Features◆◇◆ One form of metal wear is adhesive wear. Adhesive wear tends to occur between the same metals, softer metals, and metals with low melting points, and in severe cases, it can lead to galling (scuffing) or seizing, resulting in sticking and preventing sliding. A common example is when stainless steel bolts and nuts gall and become completely immovable. Once galling occurs, it can become a significant problem that halts the function of the components, leading to unexpectedly high costs for repairs, such as parts replacement. When chrome plating is used in a dry state, it is prone to seizing with counterpart materials that are also chrome-plated, or with tin, zinc, bronze, etc., while it is considered less likely to seize with copper. Our company employs a composite coating of hard, high-melting-point chrome plating and PTFE, which excels in lubrication and friction characteristics, to prevent seizing and galling, thereby improving workability, extending component lifespan, and reducing maintenance burdens. This technology is different from our Tef-Lock treatment and is suitable for processing bolts and nuts.
