The integrative sphere manufactured by Avantes in the Netherlands is a multi-use integrative sphere with an original structure that collects and measures light, suitable for all applications.
The AvaSphere-IRRAD for light measurement is available in inner diameters of 30, 50, and 80 mm, and has an SMA port for the spectrometer located at a 90° position on the side. It is convenient for measuring light sources such as lasers, LEDs, and halogen lamps, and an adapter is used to support LED measurements. The AvaSphere-REFL for reflection measurement has a side port and also features an SMA port for light sources positioned at an 8° angle from the top, accommodating a variety of applications such as color measurement and fluorescence spectroscopy. An option for a model coated with absorbing material is also available. *Reflection measurement halogen light source built-in type (inner diameter 50 mm) *AvaSphere-50-LS-HAL-12V ● A compact integrating sphere with a built-in 5W halogen light source specially constructed for reflection measurement, capable of illuminating 160 times more light than the standard type. (360-2500nm, inner diameter 50mm, sample port inner diameter 10mm) ● Effective for measuring dark or weak reflective materials and in the near-infrared range. ● Ideal for mineralogy, etc. * There are also large-diameter (102/152/203mm) integrating spheres available for measuring high-output LED light sources.

Typically, integrating spheres require the selection of internal coatings and body materials to match the desired wavelength range for their applications, and common barium sulfate has issues with moisture absorption and durability. Additionally, Spectralon, which can accommodate wavelengths up to 2500 nm, is expensive and requires significant thickness, limiting its applications. AvaSphere uses a unique high-reflective diffuser material instead of a coating, achieving a high reflectance of over 92% (over 96% for wavelengths below 2000 nm) across the range of 250 nm to 2500 nm. The sample port features a knife edge design, allowing for an incident angle of 180 degrees from the sample port and accommodating a wide range of applications.
