It is a programmable universal counter IC that can count up to 6 channels. The counter length is variable in 8-bit units, with a total of 96 bits built-in. The configuration consists of 12 eight-bit counters arranged in a train-like formation, allowing for a maximum of 6 counters (trains) to be formed like freight cars. It has 6 built-in phase discrimination circuits that generate up/down signals for the counters, and you can also combine two of them to form a deviation counter.
