This is a precipitation-hardened martensitic stainless steel with a martensitic structure in the solution-treated state. Because it exhibits a martensitic structure in the solution-treated state, it can be processed with minimal machining without the need for heavy processing like SUS301 or SUS631, resulting in high hardness, spring characteristics, and fatigue properties after precipitation hardening. It has low cold work hardening, excellent formability, and punching workability, making it particularly advantageous for the manufacture of punched spring components that require high strength. Additionally, by applying simple heat treatment after welding, a welded joint with high strength and toughness can be obtained, allowing it to be used as a high-strength material for welding.
