Prototyping equipment cheaper than metal printers! We aimed to in-house the production of prototypes.

The Product Development Department is engaged in the daily production of prototypes. Prototypes were entirely outsourced, involving a long process from the creation of simple molds to shaping and cutting with metal, which took at least 1 to 2 months for completion. Additionally, creating molds for a single part cost several hundred thousand yen, leading to expenses every time a revision or mass production prototype was requested. Therefore, instead of using a metal printer, we utilized a 3D printer and our company's casting machine to internalize the production of prototypes. By completing prototypes in-house, we were able to reduce both lead times and costs, allowing us to work on prototypes until we were satisfied with the results. NG shapes of die-cast ceramic shells

Products with undercut shapes can be easily demolded! Casting is possible even for products with fine gaps in their shapes!

In "die casting," product shapes with undercuts may be rejected for casting because they cannot be removed from the mold during demolding. Additionally, in "ceramic shell casting," product shapes with gaps of less than 1 cm cannot be cast because sufficient layering cannot be achieved, resulting in brittle mold strength. Therefore, with the "block mold method," the gypsum molds can be easily broken apart by striking them, allowing for the casting of product shapes with undercuts. Line production is possible from molten metal in the furnace to the production of castings by the casting machine, discharge, cleaning by automatic robots, and cutting of the runner.

The linear low-pressure casting plant "BPL155" is composed of two separate single-head automatic devices. Each automatic device is mounted on a cart on the main frame and moves horizontally using electric motors controlled by inverters and encoders. Their positions are securely maintained by a guide system. One cart allows the automatic device to move from the core placement station to the casting station. At the core placement station, the processes of immersing in graphite and automatically discharging castings into the plant's interior are performed. With the perfect double-head plant, only one operator is sufficient.
