Next-generation LTE Cat 1 bis communication module SIM7672X series
The SIM7672X series from SIMCom Wireless Solutions is a communication module that supports LTE Cat.1 bis as specified in 3GPP Release 13. It is expected to fill the gap between LTE Cat.1 and Cat-M/Cat-NB, supporting a maximum download speed of 10 Mbps and a maximum upload speed of 5 Mbps. It can operate with a single antenna and contributes to miniaturization (22% reduction in volume compared to conventional products) and cost reduction, including the communication module itself and peripheral circuits. It supports major bands in Japan and features a high-performance GNSS chip (with a lower-cost version available without GNSS), as well as low power consumption through eDRX functionality.
