Principle of the Tekune Measurement's main product, Dew Point Meter TK-100 Series.

The sensor uses aluminum oxide as its material and detects and measures the electrical capacitance of water molecules. It has a higher sensitivity than polymer sensors and can detect trace amounts of moisture, but its response speed is inferior. It is commonly used in applications such as semiconductors, glove boxes, and battery manufacturing in environments with consistently low dew points. Principle of the High Response Speed Dew Point Meter TE-660 Series

The sensor uses a polymer material. The principle is the same as that of aluminum oxide sensors. The polymer-based capacitive sensor is a capacitor that has a dielectric layer that reacts to moisture in the surrounding gas. This dielectric layer ideally absorbs moisture in the same ratio as the surrounding moisture content, allowing it to detect the moisture level. Its advantages include fast response speed and long-term stability. However, measurements in low dew point areas below -50 °C dp have lower sensitivity compared to aluminum oxide types, so it outputs calculated values that combine actual measurements and predictions. Therefore, without an automatic calibration function, it cannot maintain accuracy. It has an automatic calibration function that corrects the zero point through heating, maintaining accuracy. ■What is a Dew Point Meter? A device that measures trace amounts of moisture contained in gases such as gas or dry air. It is expressed in terms of the temperature at which moisture in the gas condenses, known as the dew point temperature (°C dp). ■What is Dew Point? The temperature at which condensation, or the process of liquefaction, occurs when cooling a gas. This ultimately represents the temperature at which air is in equilibrium with water and is saturated. The dew point is an important factor not only in everyday life but also in various industrial fields (such as painting, semiconductors, batteries, power, railways, pharmaceuticals, gas refining, renewable energy, chemical plants, agriculture, food, air, industrial gases, steel, air conditioning, heat treatment, etc.). ■Types of Dew Point Meters There are several types of dew point meters based on measurement principles. In the semiconductor manufacturing process, the removal of moisture and oxygen is a significant challenge. Our dew point meters, temperature and humidity meters, and oxygen concentration meters are used in various processes such as semiconductor manufacturing, transportation, and inspection. They are also used for measuring the dehumidification in dry air and the gas purity of nitrogen, argon, helium, hydrogen, and other gases. In moisture measurement, we primarily use the TK-100 capacitive dew point meter (alumina type), which can measure down to a minimum dew point of -100°C, the TE-660 dew point meter (polymer type) for a minimum dew point of -60°C, and the MBW mirror-cooling dew point meter, which can measure from -95°C to +99°C and is used when high precision is required or as a reference instrument for dew point meters. In the humidity domain, the simple EE060 and the EE33 temperature and humidity meter, which is equipped with measures to prevent condensation in high temperature and high humidity environments, are mainly used. For oxygen concentration measurement, during oxygen removal by hydrogen substitution, the 2001LC galvanic cell oxygen concentration meter is used for PPM levels, while the Model 4100 zirconia oxygen concentration meter is used for PPB levels in situations where hydrogen is not present, making them applicable in various scenarios. Additionally, anemometers are also utilized for measuring micro-wind in clean rooms and manufacturing equipment.

If the amount of water vapor in the air is low, the dew point is low; if there is a lot of water vapor, the dew point is high. In other words, the dew point quantifies the amount of water vapor in the air and represents something similar to humidity. ○ What is saturated water vapor?
