Lignin-based, sludge dispersion

Measurements conducted at pH 8.5! Improved cleaning by preventing reattachment to the surface [Samples available].

Pionera dispersants demonstrate superior performance in the dispersion of many common contaminants (rust, clay, soot, oil, etc.) in cooling circuits compared to polyacrylate. Dispersion improves cleaning by keeping particles suspended in water and preventing re-adhesion to surfaces. In the laboratory, a diluted dispersion of ferric oxide (0.1g in 50ml) and kaolin (1g in 50ml) was prepared with dispersant concentrations of 0.01% to 0.03% (weight of dispersant per weight of solid particles), using a polyacrylate (PA) with a molecular weight of 5000 Da as the baseline. [Key Points] ■ Superior dispersion performance of Pionera biopolymer compared to petroleum-based polyacrylate ■ Proven to be a sustainable bio-based alternative in water treatment formulations ★Samples of 200-300g are currently available★ Please feel free to contact us for more details.

What is lignin? Unexpected discoveries have expanded its industrial use.

- Applications of lignin discovered in the plastic casing of lead-acid batteries - [Samples available]

Currently, lignin is attracting attention as a powerful biomaterial, but in the past, it was only used for limited applications. Bolegard is a company that has consistently produced lignin since its early days. One of the applications that supported that early period was lead-acid batteries. Lead-acid batteries were invented in 1859 by the Frenchman Gaston Planté. The current basic structure consists of lead dioxide as the positive electrode, sponge lead as the negative electrode, and dilute sulfuric acid as the electrolyte. Until the first few decades of the 20th century, the containers for battery cells were made of wood. However, with improvements that changed the containers to plastic, a problem arose where the cycle life became shorter. Upon investigating the cause, it was found that lignin was what supported the cycle life of lead-acid batteries. It was discovered that the polymer structure of lignin has excellent functions in inhibiting or dispersing the crystallization of inorganic compounds due to steric hindrance. Subsequently, Bolegard followed a business path of developing lignin-based dispersants suitable for various applications. We are introducing various new uses for lignin. Please take a look at our special webpage.

Microparticle dispersant

Our "water-soluble phenolic resin" disperses fine particles and has excellent long-term storage stability.

Microparticles can be deployed in various applications in a dispersed state, but they have a tendency to re-agglomerate due to interactions between the microparticles. Inorganic microparticles are hydrophilic, which allows them to interact strongly with the hydroxyl groups of water-soluble phenolic resins. Additionally, the electrostatic repulsion between the sulfonic acid groups of the water-soluble phenolic resins enables the dispersed microparticles to remain stable and dispersed in the aqueous solution for an extended period without re-agglomerating. *Please feel free to download detailed materials or contact us for inquiries.*
