[Use Case] Infrared Gas Detection Camera Mounted on Drone
Early detection of combustible material leaks from plant equipment and prompt action. Detection of combustible materials (organic hydrocarbons) is possible.
Ensuring the safety and stable operation of plant equipment (smart safety) is a critical issue, particularly in terms of preventing accidents and disasters. Early detection of combustible material leaks from equipment and prompt action are essential. Inspecting a wide range of plant equipment takes time, and there are areas such as high places and piping racks where gas detection by operators is difficult, making it impossible to comprehensively detect combustible gas throughout the entire plant. To address this, we developed a drone system equipped with an infrared gas detection camera that can capture images even in hard-to-reach areas such as high places. By using a visible image camera mounted on the drone to photograph the target equipment at the same angle as the infrared gas detection camera, we have designed the system to prevent false detections, such as steam leaks, by verifying the visible images.
