[Case Study of Mapping Drone Utilization] Observation of Wildlife and Environmental Conservation

Utilizing mapping drones for wildlife observation and environmental conservation! It is also possible to confirm habitats and track footprints!

We would like to introduce a case study conducted by the non-profit organization WildTrack, which combined FIT (Footprint Identification Technology) with the eBee fixed-wing drone for a demonstration experiment. The organization successfully developed software capable of accurately analyzing footprints; however, shortening the data collection process was identified as a challenge. This demonstration experiment revealed that it is possible to confirm wildlife footprints using drones and high-quality cameras. 【Case Overview】 ■ Equipment Used: eBee X fixed-wing drone, Aeria X ■ Target: Mapping off the coast of Beaufort, North Carolina *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Examples of drone applications in the energy sector

Explanation of power spot checks and recovery work during power outages!

The biggest advantage of using drones for inspecting electrical equipment is the significant reduction in work time and the ability to cut labor costs. Additionally, based on aerial images, it is possible to measure the overall safety of operations and quickly identify problems. In particular, the use of drones is suitable for inspecting hazardous equipment such as transmission towers and substations. By using drones in areas where workers cannot approach, it is possible to quickly access the towers and diagnose what would normally take several hours in just a few minutes while collecting real-time images. *For more details, you can view the related links. Regarding Overlap: Five Reasons to Extend Flight Time by 5 Minutes

High overlap is essential for accurate 3D modeling! Here’s why you should extend flight time by 5 minutes.

Recently, the agricultural drone industry has been focusing on methods to acquire and process data with minimal overlap. By reducing the overlap between images, it shortens the overall flight time, ultimately leading to savings in both time and costs associated with capturing images. However, this comes at the cost of accuracy, resolution, and valuable output. Additionally, while flying at a standard overlap rate (70%), the flight plan time was extended compared to flying at a low overlap rate (25%), but the difference was only 5 minutes. In this article, we will discuss the reasons for extending flight time by 5 minutes. *For more details, please refer to the related links. Feel free to contact us for more information.*

Fixed-wing drones: Rapid disaster relief and wildfire mapping in Florida.

Despite the complex challenges that change moment by moment, quickly and efficiently mapping the fire-affected area.

Every year in Florida, thousands of acres of wilderness and many homes are lost to wildfires caused by lightning strikes and flying debris. One of the 70 wildfires that occurred across Florida in May 2020, during a period of drought, strong winds, and low humidity, was the "Walton County Mullet Bay Fire." This fire burned approximately 350 acres of land, damaged 59 structures, and destroyed 34 homes. The Director of the Center for Disaster Risk Policy (CDRP) at Florida State University and his team supported emergency rescue teams on the ground during the wildfire. The AgEagle eBee X played a crucial role there. The Director explained how this product was utilized in mapping the disaster area and provided important insights. *For more details, you can view the related links.
