[Solution Case] Implementing Retro Games with FPGA

Over 8000 lines of code required! A case of porting code realized in software to FPGA.

I implemented a block breaker on an FPGA using "full hardware." No software involved. As a result, over 8,000 lines of code were required for the FPGA. In contrast, implementing a block breaker that runs on Windows in software can be achieved with less than one-tenth of that code. Porting the code developed in software to the FPGA required an enormous amount of time and effort. However, the FPGA has the advantage of being able to perform very high-speed processing that software cannot keep up with, and it has minimal time lag. *You can view the detailed content of this case study through the related links. [Solution Case] FPGA In-house Research Meeting vol. 4

Utilizing ARM-integrated FPGA! Introducing research on high-speed image processing and motor control.

We are further enhancing the control of the ping pong ball as the final installment. The images of the ping pong ball input from the camera were processed in a time-division manner by the ARM and logic within the FPGA, but to increase processing speed, we implemented improvements in feedback speed and memory access within the FPGA. However, regarding the control of the fan that actually levitates the ping pong ball, we are using a cooling fan intended for PC applications, which does not allow for precise control and quick response. *For detailed information about the case, please refer to the related links. [Solution Case] FPGA-AI Solution Vol.5

"AI Architecture Edition"! Introducing how to logicize AI algorithms.

We would like to introduce our efforts in AI within FPGAs. The fifth installment of "Systec's AI Solution Series Vol.5" will focus on "AI Architecture." We will discuss how we have implemented AI algorithms into logic using various architectures, following the construction of the FPGA system from the previous session. *For detailed information on the case studies, please refer to the related links. [Solution Case] FPGA In-house Research Meeting vol.1

Control the ping pong balls inside the tube! Introducing research on high-speed image processing and motor control.

Our company regularly holds research meetings to improve FPGA technology in-house. This time, we are using an FPGA with an ARM core to process images captured by a camera while controlling a fan motor, and to control a ping pong ball inside a tube at the same location where the image was taken. We are advancing research that enables simultaneous processing on the ARM and FPGA, allowing for faster and more appropriate feedback. By continuing such in-house research, we are tackling new technological fields. *Details of the case can be viewed through the related links. For more information, please feel free to contact us.*
