【About Winding Angles】
The mechanical strength of FWP products is determined by the combination of the material properties and the winding angles for each layer. In filament winding, there are mainly hoop winding and helical winding, and designs are made to maximize performance based on their combinations.
■ Hoop Winding
- The winding angle is set upright (70° to 88°) relative to the longitudinal direction (axial direction) of the pipe.
- Increases mechanical strength in the circumferential direction.
■ Helical Winding
- The winding angle is laid down (5° to 69°) relative to the longitudinal direction (axial direction) of the pipe.
- Increases mechanical strength in the axial direction.
