[Basic Knowledge] Tenryu Composite's FWP(R) 'Regarding Winding Angle'

FWP has excellent mechanical strength, electrical properties, and chemical resistance, and is active in a wide range of fields such as industrial materials, electrical insulation materials, leisure products, and pressure vessels!

【What is FWP(R) from Tenryu Composite?】 FWP stands for "Filament Winding Plastics," which is a type of FRP manufactured using the filament winding process. It is a general term for FWP pipes that possess various characteristics due to our unique technology and is one of our trademarks. FWP has excellent mechanical strength, electrical properties, and chemical resistance, making it useful in a wide range of fields, including industrial materials, electrical insulation materials, leisure products, and pressure vessels. Its significant feature is that it is "light and strong," and we look forward to your inquiries as an alternative to metal products. 【About Winding Angles】 The mechanical strength of FWP products is determined by the combination of the material properties and the winding angles for each layer. In filament winding, there are mainly hoop winding and helical winding, and designs are made to maximize performance based on their combinations. ■ Hoop Winding - The winding angle is set upright (70° to 88°) relative to the longitudinal direction (axial direction) of the pipe. - Increases mechanical strength in the circumferential direction. ■ Helical Winding - The winding angle is laid down (5° to 69°) relative to the longitudinal direction (axial direction) of the pipe. - Increases mechanical strength in the axial direction. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
