At Shimadzu Precision Technology Co., Ltd., which manufactures hydraulic equipment such as hydraulic pumps, hydraulic motors, and hydraulic valves, the 'AirGRID' system has been introduced to visualize the operational status of processing equipment and lines. The product has been installed on all 82 processing machines equipped with Patlite indicator lights, allowing for the acquisition of equipment operation information via wireless communication (compliant with IEEE802.15.4 ZigBee). The entire factory is covered by six wireless receivers. By aggregating operational rates and availability rates, it is utilized for reliability evaluation of equipment, analysis for improving production capacity, and change point management. As there have been positive results in enhancing production capacity and managing change points, the introduction of the system to the assembly and performance testing lines is also being considered.
