We would like to introduce a case study on the implementation of the inventory management system "SmartF" at Asahi Kasei Corporation, a manufacturer of automotive parts. At the company, products were visually checked for first-in, first-out (FIFO) management, which led to increased workload and human errors. As a result of the implementation, switching to a system where barcodes are verified using handheld terminals allowed for the prevention of erroneous shipments through a warning function, ensuring strict adherence to FIFO.
