0363 Prevention of wall accumulation in wood chip dust collector hopper

Easy resolution of sawdust accumulation on hopper walls! Introducing a case study of Brody Disk delivery!

This is an introduction to a case study implemented as a countermeasure for the issue where "wood powder" accumulates on the walls of the dust collector hopper and occasionally falls in clumps, causing the discharge rotary valve to stop. A total of 12 standard blow disks, three on each side, were installed. By using a controller with six solenoid valves, the blow disks are divided into six locations and sequentially air-jet two at a time, effectively resolving this issue. This product ejects air in a 360° direction along the inner wall of the hopper from the periphery of the elastic disks set on the inner surface of the hopper, thereby easily eliminating the accumulation of wood powder on the hopper walls in this case. The troubles of bridge, rat hole, and powder clogging were resolved more easily than the customer's expectations!

We would like to introduce a case study of the implementation of "Brodisk" at a tire-related business. The company's challenge was to eliminate and prevent talc rat holes. While blockages at the discharge point were resolved by tapping, rat holes remained, and the powder remaining on the hopper wall was quite compacted. In our company, we installed one Brodisk (Type 15) near the discharge area on each of the four sides of a square hopper, and one more above that, offset from the center left and right, resulting in two Brodisks per side, for a total of eight Brodisks. Using a controller C-SV4 equipped with four solenoid valves, we aerated the eight Brodisks two at a time, and the customer's problem was resolved in one go.
