Concrete drying retardant "J-74 Aquafilm"

The emulsion with organic components suppresses moisture evaporation and prevents drying cracks on the concrete surface.

"J-74 Aqua Film" is a drying retardant that minimizes moisture evaporation simply by being sprayed on the surface of freshly poured concrete. It helps to extend the time before direct exposure to weather conditions that accelerate moisture evaporation (such as high temperatures and strong winds), preventing drying cracks on the concrete surface. An emulsion containing organic components forms a film on the concrete surface, preventing moisture evaporation. This film naturally disappears once its purpose is fulfilled. [Measurement Example] Cement Setting Delay Time

We will introduce a case where the setting delay time of cement was predicted using pulse NMR.

We would like to introduce a case study conducted by Majelica Japan Co., Ltd., which experimentally demonstrated the feasibility of easily comparing setting times using pulse NMR. Two types of dispersions were prepared: one with water added to achieve 50wt% cement, and the other with a cement setting retardant added. The viscosity and relaxation time T1 of each were measured at 60°C. The dispersion with the setting retardant showed an initial viscosity in the low shear region that was about ten times greater, while the initial relaxation time was shorter for the dispersion containing only cement and water.
