Protective Plate 【KN-BLOCK】 Soft Iron Embedded Object Protective Steel Plate

KN-BLOCK, a protective steel plate for underground installations registered with NETIS, protects with the ductility of ultra-soft iron.

The underground protective steel plate "KN-BLOCK" is a protective board designed to safeguard buried utilities from pavement cutter blades in various infrastructure projects, including electrical duct construction, telephone lines, and water pipes. It uses ultra-soft steel as its material, achieving a unique structure that absorbs blade impacts with excellent toughness. Despite a thickness of 12mm, it provides protective performance equivalent to that of a typical 16mm thick SS400 protective board. The reduction in thickness results in a lightweight design, improving transportation and construction efficiency, while also contributing to reduced work burden and environmental impact. This product is registered with NETIS and is recognized as a new technology eligible for evaluation in public works. Kumagai Special Steel has established a consistent production system at its own factory as the manufacturer of KN-BLOCK. It ensures thorough quality control and stable supply. As of July 2025, it has a delivery record to 123 projects across 28 prefectures nationwide and supports nationwide shipping. It safely and reliably supports the electrification of utility poles and the development of road infrastructure.

HCRDI's products play an important role in cement production. Cement clinker crushed by a roller press is sent to a cement mill for final grinding. Duroxite is a wear-resistant overlay steel plate designed for the most extreme wear conditions involving abrasion, impact, heat, and erosive wear.

The wear-resistant overlay steel plate DUROXITE is composed of a wear-resistant material that is built up on soft steel or Hardox wear-resistant steel plates. It is suitable for applications subjected to severe abrasive wear and medium to low levels of impact. The multi-layer overlay can maintain full wear resistance up to 350°C (660°F) and a typical surface hardness of 55 HRC at high temperatures up to 540°C (1000°F), and it is available in single or multiple layers with a thickness of up to 20mm. DUROXITE WIRE is also available, allowing for extended wear resistance through its use in welding applications. Surface Hardness: Single Pass: 55~57 HRC (590~630 HV) Double Pass: 59~62 HRC (675~750 HV) Triple Pass or More: 60~64 HRC (700~810 HV) *Surface hardness is measured on a machined flat surface directly beneath the overlay surface.

While stocking extremely thick metal slabs (with plate thicknesses primarily between 250-450mm, and a maximum of 500-600mm), we utilize our four-high reversible wide plate rolling mill to re-roll these slabs, ensuring that we meet customer requirements for plate thickness, width, length, mechanical properties, internal quality, and more, providing consistent quality control and assurance. Additionally, we are advancing research and development of ultra-thick high-strength steel plates exceeding 200mm in thickness, aiming for market launch in the latter half of fiscal year 2024.
