For weight control and anti-aging! By taking NMN, you can turn ON the activation switch for the sirtuin genes (longevity genes)!
NMN, or β-nicotinamide mononucleotide, is a metabolite of niacin. It is known that NMN is converted into NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) by enzymes, fulfilling various functions, and in recent years, it has been expected that the intake of NMN will turn ON the activation switch of the sirtuin genes (longevity genes). There is also data suggesting that weight gain associated with aging has been suppressed in mice. This component, NMN, decreases in the body with age, and it is believed that this reduction leads to the sirtuin genes not being activated (in an OFF state), contributing to aging. Additionally, NMN is a component found in food, and it is thought that in the body, as illustrated in the following image (click to enlarge), the ingested NMN is first converted to NR and then utilized again as NMN.
