Evaluation of the shape of the FRP hole processing drill manufactured in-house and the X-ray CT assessment of the processed object.
Compare and evaluate the conditions before and after processing using an in-house manufactured φ15mm drill for FRP and a commercially available drill through visual inspection and non-destructive testing!
This document is a technical report that evaluates the characteristics of drill shapes after processing, using the example of hole processing in FRP. It includes quantification of the features of the processed drill shapes conducted in-house, as well as a quantitative comparison of these shapes with commercially available drills. Additionally, it assesses the validity of the shapes through FRP processing. In the evaluated range, while no superiority was recognized between the commercially available drills and the modified in-house drills for FRP processing, it was confirmed that the shape of the in-house processed drills contributes to extending the tool life. This result holds significant importance from the perspective of extending tool life.
