We addressed the weaknesses of the laminate processing by reinforcing the sides with seal support.

The lamination process involves bonding OPP film and CPP film together. It is common to use OPP film on the outside for good ink adhesion and high moisture resistance, and CPP film on the inside for excellent heat sealability and abrasion resistance. The customer this time also requested OPCP laminated bags. However, we heard that when they previously had bags made, the seal strength was weak, and the sides of the bag's opening were very prone to tearing. The reason for this is that during the lamination process, slight differences in the tension applied by the machine when bonding the films and the way the adhesive adheres can create minor variations in adhesion. This can lead to the edges opening when the film is placed on the bag-making machine, resulting in issues with proper fusion of the sides. To address this problem, we utilized a "reinforcement seal." When applying the reinforcement seal, we took care to ensure that: - The temperature was not too high to prevent deformation of the bag. - The marks left by the reinforcement on the bag were minimized. To consider these two points, we made sure to manage the temperature during the process. The issue was successfully resolved, and the customer was satisfied!

Our products typically feature bags with corners on all four sides, but this time we incorporated a shoulder drop processing based on the following customer requests: 1. For a bag that holds a lunch box, we want to ensure that the corners at the top of the bag do not protrude when the product is placed inside. 2. We want to improve the visual appeal as much as possible when displaying the products. These were the two main points. Now, regarding the shoulder drop processing, when inserting thicker products, it is usually necessary to set the header portion longer than the width of the product. However, this increases unnecessary parts of the bag and distorts its shape, taking up extra space during display. Therefore, we decided to implement the shoulder drop processing. We made the header portion smaller than the width of the product from the beginning and cut both ends of the upper part of the header diagonally. This allows for a better fit according to the product size and eliminates unnecessary blank space in the bag, increasing the number of product types that can be displayed in one location from three to four. In fact, bags with shoulder drop processing save about 10-20% more space compared to regular bags. This time, we would like to introduce a case study of a bag with corner-cut processing applied to the flap part. In sealing operations, there are methods that use glue on the flap part and those that use tape such as cellophane tape. 1. When sealing with glue for products of a certain thickness: If the flap part shifts even slightly from the main body of the bag, the glue may overflow from the bag and stick to other products. 2. When sealing with cellophane tape for products of a certain thickness: If the tape is not applied all the way to the edges, it may peel up, resulting in a poor appearance. (Applying tape to the edges increases the width of tape used and makes it more cumbersome to remove.) The "corner-cut processing" can solve the issues mentioned above. For point 1, even if the seal is slightly misaligned, it can prevent the flap part from overflowing from the main body of the bag. For point 2, it reduces excess material, decreases the width of the tape used, and allows for a neat seal. This time, we would like to introduce a bag-making case for a customer who requested notch processing. The type of notch shape we can handle is the hexagonal notch. The overall size is 3mm in height and 6mm in width, and the width of the notch to be processed will be adjusted as needed for the bag (there may be slight variations in width depending on the product). Additionally, you can specify the processing position. Furthermore, this customer was very concerned about whether the bag would wrinkle when sealed using heat during the filling process. With standard films, wrinkles tend to occur easily, and the degree of wrinkling can vary depending on the temperature of the heat applied. Therefore, we suggested using a single-sided heat seal film. This film allows for bonding at lower temperatures compared to standard films, which can reduce wrinkles compared to heat treatment at higher temperatures. While it is difficult to completely eliminate wrinkles due to temperature-related factors, the customer was satisfied with the results.
