The main advantage of ECS is its high-speed external serial interface. While the compass is installed, a serial cable or a usable USB cable can be temporarily connected through an RJ12-style modular receptacle without removing the system wiring. The smallest type of small spring compass is particularly suitable for drawing small circles. Each is a specialized tool for its specific use and cannot be interchanged.

Since it is a replaceable type, it can be used as a pencil compass, a caliper compass, and a divider with just one piece. You can also use the separately sold compass sharpener and circle cutter.

This is a compass specifically designed for very small circles. Since it has interchangeable parts, you can switch between using a pencil and a scriber. While a regular compass adjusts the radius by opening and closing both legs, a drop compass is used as follows: 1) Place the needle on the center axis onto the paper and hold it down with your index finger to fix the center. 2) Adjust the radius. 3) Rotate the drawing part (pencil or scriber) attached to the outer axis with your thumb and middle finger to draw the circle.
