A new wire cutting technology that enables mass production!
Wire cutting is a machine tool that is positioned at the opposite end of "fast" and has been considered unsuitable for mass production. We will overturn such common sense!
Wire cutting machines, including those using electrical discharge machining, have been considered unsuitable for mass production due to the time-consuming processing and high running costs. As a result, in cases of mass production, there have been instances where designs are considered in shapes that do not require wire cutting from the design stage. What we have focused on is "how to cut faster" while maintaining the characteristics of the wire. One of the features of wire processing is that the wire diameter is Φ0.2 to φ0.25, which enables various shape processing. Our machines also adopt Φ0.2, allowing them to accommodate all kinds of shape processing. The wire is made of high-toughness molybdenum steel, achieving processing speeds 2 to 5 times faster than conventional wire cutting machines. We are also working on reducing running costs. The wire is wound around a drum with a length of 200m. By using the 200m wire in both forward and reverse directions repeatedly, we have achieved significant reductions in wire costs. Even when combined with other consumables, we have achieved a 60% reduction!
