Recent technological development trends in the synthesis, structural control, and pattern formation of conductive polymers!
**Course Objectives and Goals**
There have been a series of announcements regarding the commercialization of organic EL and white lighting using organic semiconductors. Additionally, the development of organic transistors and organic thin-film solar cells has progressed significantly, indicating the arrival of a new era of organic electronics. Among organic semiconductors, conductive polymers are actively being developed as promising materials for printable electronics due to their ability to create large-area devices at low cost through printing methods. This seminar will first introduce recent technological developments related to the synthesis, structural control, and pattern formation of conductive polymers. Following that, it will discuss the development trends and challenges of energy devices based on the results obtained from these technological advancements. In addition to solar cells, supercapacitors, and actuators, which have been under development for some time, the development of hydrogen generation materials and thermoelectric conversion materials through the combination with other materials has begun, and the current status of these new applications will also be presented.
