We have developed 3D printer filament materials for metals and ceramics that can be used with filament-type 3D printers, which are becoming more widespread under the MEX method. The filament type uses a rod-shaped filament material that is fed by gears, and the material is extruded from a heated nozzle and layered. By balancing factors such as "flexibility for winding into filament shape" and "strength for 3D printing through gear extrusion" while mixing metals and ceramics, we have created filament materials that enable the 3D printing of metals and ceramics with filament-type 3D printers. KB Seiren manufactures and sells synthetic fibers, as well as weaving, processing, and selling textile materials, and the production and sale of secondary textile products. The new functional polyester "Belcouple" combines regular polyester in the core and low-melting-point polyester in the sheath, allowing two types of polymers with different melting points to change into various forms through thermal processing. The woven and knitted materials made from this yarn exhibit high heat sealability (preventing misalignment), shape stability, and hardness adjustability. 【Features】 ■ Fibers melt with heat (thermal fusion) By applying thermal processing (at 190°C), the low-melting-point polyester in the sheath melts, transforming the multifilament into monofilament (single yarn), resulting in high resilience. Fabrics treated with Belcouple and heat processing can prevent fraying and misalignment. ■ Hardness is adjustable (hardness adjustability) By varying the processing temperature or combining with other materials, fabrics of different hardness can be produced.
