There are four types of sheath cross-sections: 4.1 square, 3.5 square, 2.5x4.0 rectangular, and 2x3 rectangular. The connection part with the lead wire is a non-heating section, making it less likely to break at the connection. It is also possible to incorporate a thermocouple (J or K).

The JTD cartridge heater embeds nichrome wire close to the inner wall of the sheath and increases the density of the magnesium inside the heater by reducing its diameter (swaging) with a swaging machine, allowing it to withstand high-temperature use due to the high density inside the heater.
