By directly creating lens shapes from molten glass droplets, we provide shapes and quality that cannot be achieved with conventional glass molds!

Utilizing the high degree of freedom in the shape of the glass droplet receiving surface, which is a feature of Konica Minolta's unique droplet glass mold technology, it is possible to manufacture glass lenses (commonly known as seagull lenses) with inflection points on both sides, which are difficult to mold using conventional re-heating methods. This lens has become an essential shape for low-profile cameras, and by manufacturing it from glass, an all-glass lens module for ultra-low-profile cameras that is resistant to temperature changes can be realized. Examples of achievements: - Outer diameter size: up to φ9mm - Inter-surface eccentricity precision: less than 5μm (precision), 7.5μm (general purpose). - Center thickness precision: ±0.005mm (precision) and ±0.01mm (general purpose) for outer diameter sizes up to φ5mm. - Surface roughness (PV): less than 0.3μm (precision) and 0.9μm (general purpose) for outer diameter sizes up to φ5mm, and less than 0.4μm (precision) and below 1μm (general purpose) for sizes from φ5 to φ9mm.

Far Infrared Lens - Far Infrared Transmitting Resin Aspheric Lens

We provide eco-friendly, user-friendly, high-precision far-infrared glass lenses.

Silicon (Si), used as a material for low-pixel area far-infrared lenses, has the challenge of poor workability. To address this, Konica Minolta offers resin-molded aspheric lenses that transmit far-infrared light. By adopting a Fresnel surface structure and making the lens thinner, we have managed to ensure optical performance while addressing the drawback of high absorption in the far-infrared region of the resin (patent pending). Additionally, we are developing unique resin materials to accommodate higher precision designs. Depending on specifications, we can also incorporate diffraction shapes for wavelength dispersion correction and anti-reflective structures (ARS) for reflection prevention, allowing us to handle design, processing, evaluation, and production all in-house. Glass Lens - Ultra High Precision Polished Lens

We respond to all requests, from mass production of general-purpose lenses to ultra-high precision polishing for stepper lenses!

We polish spherical lenses and prisms made of glass used in optical products such as vehicle-mounted lenses, projector lenses, and interchangeable camera lenses. Among the specifications required for glass polishing, the most significant evaluation item affecting the optical performance of the product is shape error. It is crucial to minimize the difference from the required shape within the effective range of the polished surface. In glass polishing, the processing conditions vary depending on the shape, glass material, and required precision, and it is necessary to discover the processing know-how for each lens. In particular, for cutting-edge spherical lenses used in objective lenses, an extremely high precision of λ/40 (approximately 16nm) is required. If the lens diameter is compared to the height of the Tokyo Skytree, the shape error is controlled with a precision comparable to the thickness of a one-yen coin. Examples of mass production processing achievements: - The outer diameter size of spherical lenses ranges from a few mm to 150mm. - Materials: In addition to regular glass, special glass materials such as soft fluorite and hard synthetic quartz can also be processed. - Surface accuracy: For an outer diameter size of φ150mm, λ/2 (approximately 316nm); for an outer diameter size of φ30mm, λ/10 (approximately 63nm); for an outer diameter size of φ5mm, λ/20 (approximately 32nm).

Far Infrared Lens - Chalcogenide Glass Aspheric Lens
