Molybdenum carbide powder used as a sintering aid for advanced ceramics, fine superhard alloys, and catalytic materials.
◆Application
It is mainly used as a sintering aid for advanced ceramics, fine cemented carbide, and catalyst materials. Mo2C possesses characteristics such as high melting point and hardness, excellent thermal stability, mechanical stability, and outstanding corrosion resistance, making it suitable for use as a coating material, as well as an additive for cemented carbide and a particle size reducer for alloys. Mo2C has similar electronic structure and catalytic properties to noble metals, exhibiting catalytic activity in hydrogenation denitrification, hydrogenation decomposition, and isomerization. Mo2C is expected to serve as an alternative to noble metals, particularly in hydrogenation activity, as it has a spatial structure very similar to that of platinum group metals, comparable to Pt and Pb.
