To create easy-to-understand and visually accessible printed materials, it is essential to consider not only "font size" and "clear expressions" but also "easily distinguishable colors." However, human perception of color is not uniform. Some individuals have various types of color vision, making it difficult to distinguish between colors like red and green. In printed materials, it is necessary to take into account these diverse color perceptions and ensure that information is effectively communicated to a broader audience. This is the concept of "Color Universal Design (CUD)." ■Universal Printing Our company positions "printing materials that are easy to use for as many people as possible, meaning considerate printing" as Universal Printing and conducts research in this area. General color printing consists of four colors: black, cyan, magenta, and yellow, which together express all colors. The printing machine has a printing unit for each color, where the printing plates are mounted. The paper passes through each printing unit, receiving ink in the order of black → cyan → magenta → yellow, resulting in the final printed material. What is crucial here is to align the four color plates accurately. The reason for this precise alignment is not only to prevent misalignment of the image but also because even at the halftone level that makes up the image, misalignment can exacerbate moiré patterns.
