What is the GHG Protocol Scope 3 that you can't ask about now?

Doing what we can in the cutting-edge field for a sustainable future for the next generation of children.

In the manufacturing industry, efforts to achieve carbon neutrality for GHG emissions such as CO2 are accelerating rapidly. The GHG Protocol classifies supply chain emissions into categories called "Scopes" based on the emission sources and phases. 【What are Scopes?】 Scope 1: GHG emissions that are "directly emitted" by companies or organizations through the combustion of fuels or the manufacturing of products. Scope 2: Emissions associated with the use of electricity, heat, steam, etc., purchased from other companies, both domestically and internationally. Scope 3: GHG emissions that occur throughout the entire supply chain, including raw material procurement, manufacturing, logistics, sales, and disposal. In the context of Scope 2 for metal processing sites, efforts to reduce GHG emissions often end up being limited to measures such as reducing electricity consumption. By calculating Scope 3, we can see reductions in the amount of consumables and waste generated at metal processing sites. 'beacon' enables a reduction in usage and a decrease in waste volume, as well as a reduction in GHG emissions through resource conservation, by maintaining a clean coolant state. By calculating up to Scope 3, we are reviewing the selection and formulation of raw materials and promoting a switch to metalworking oil products that do not contain mineral oils.

[Wireless Case Study] Wireless Communication Between Robot Hand and Controller

A customized case of developing a proprietary wireless communication protocol for robotic hands.

We would like to introduce a case where wireless communication was implemented among the many achievements our company has accomplished. We received a request from a robot system integrator stating, "To monitor the opening and closing state of the robot hand attached to the end of the robot arm with a controller, we are currently sending signals to the controller via a cable. However, if the cable breaks, the robot will stop, so we want to reduce the risk of stopping by making the cable wireless." We made this a reality. 【Details】 - We developed and verified a configuration where a transmitter is connected to the robot hand and a receiver is connected to the controller. However, since the environment has many factors that can affect wireless communication, we independently developed a wireless communication protocol specifically for the robot hand. - By repeatedly verifying and tuning the wireless communication, we achieved reliable wireless communication between the robot hand and the controller. - To make it easy for the customer to handle the transmitter, we designed the housing with consideration for easy attachment to the robot hand and ease of setting the wireless channel. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

No access point needed for mutual communication - WI-FI DIRECT

With WI-FI DIRECT, Wi-Fi users can exchange content and share applications more quickly and easily.

"WI-FI DIRECT" is a software protocol that allows Wi-Fi devices to communicate and connect with each other without the need for pre-configuration or joining a traditional wireless access point. It connects devices as if they were connected in infrastructure mode and does not require special hardware. You can share, view, print content, and play games between devices. Additionally, you can send images directly from a digital camera to a printer, play games with friends on your mobile phone, and easily switch connections with your smartphone. By using Wi-Fi Direct on mobile handsets, you can create ad-hoc networks between mobile handsets and between mobile handsets and peripherals such as computers and printers.
